I have been looking for a way to root my Alcatel 5017B with lollipop
Android version 5.1.1 .
I used kingoroot to root my phone and it was very problematic. Root checkers would say I was rooted but when I went about to use certain applications that required root it would tell me that I wasn't rooted. I also went to use a different super user and it soft bricked my phone so it wouldn't got past the 2nd start up screen (boost mobile screen) but was able to recover it simpley with holding power and down volume button. Ive google google googled and I'm sick and tired of being led to spam and adds and not finding any real results (pay for our code, take this survey etc etc ad in finitum) my goal is to fully unlock my phone so I can switch from boost. ( nation wide best 4g ? Yeah right, Bs. If I lived in the cities maybe) if anyone has info or has rooted, unlocked or changed the ROM and other customizatin on this same phone , let me know , but as far as rooting is , if I could just be pointed in the right direction I'd be more than happy. Thank you
Oh BTW I have no PC to plug it into so I need something with out a PC.
