Gingerbread downgade to Froyo 2.2.2

LG Optimus S - updated to Gingerbread and the performance has went down. Froyo 2.2.2 was fast and had no issues. I know many people have been asking the same thing. How can I downgrade back without rooting? I have searched high and low. Any help would be immensely appreciated. Thanks.

You'll have to download Odin and a tar of the Froyo ROM you want to install.
