changing notification sounds?

Hello all,

New to the Android scene after coming from the dark side (iPhone) for the last five years. Bit the bullet and went with the Galaxy S4. And one of the things I've noticed right away is all the app notifications use the same standard sound.

Is there not a way to change sounds for the various push notifications? As it stands now, when the message sounds, I don't have any idea what app got the alert so I have to turn the phone on to see. I find it strange, coming from iPhone, that they do all use the same sound.

Okay, I see in Facebook and GoSMS where one can change the sound. But then in 1Weather one doesn't seen to be able to.

Yes. Specifically severe weather alerts, which today, I could really use as we are in a prime area for massive storms today.

I'm not 100% sure, but if the app doesn't allow it within the app then I don't believe that you can; however, I faintly remember hearing about an app that does let you do that. I'll see if I can out what it was called. If not, what about setting custom notification lights? Better than nothing huh?
