Question about find phone apps

Flip phone guy with new 2 wks old with Samsung 4.1.2 unit and going relatively okay. I want to add a phone finder but not quite sure about one aspect. The word "phone" is used I presume as a cell phone but I wasn't sure if I lost my phone would I have to call on a landline (which I have) or another cell or a computer. Or all of those?

It can vary depending on the app that you have for finding your phone. Google, AVG, many carriers, and a whole slew of other apps have some version or another of helping you find your phone.
