Is there a way to use custom sounds for ringtones and notfications? I have an mp3 file that I want to use but I can't figure out how to get it to show up in the list of notifications when I go into the settings menu. When either using a file explorer app or connecting via USB to my computer I see a notifications folder but putting the file in there doesn't work. I'm assuming there is another folder I'm missing and maybe I need root access to do this.

You can change notification sounds in each app. There is a default sound. Then you go to text, gmail, etc. and set the sound you want.

I still have no idea why this isn't a built in Android Option.
Windows Mobile has this option as a system tool. No damn need for yet another stupid app.
