Was just listening to the latest episode of All About Android when I was reminded that Talkatone will effectively drop dead sometime in May due to third party Voice apps being shut down. Anyway, this has been go to app for making calls over wifi in places where I can't get a signal. So in light of all that, does anyone know of or have a recommendation for a VoIP app that doesn't use Google Voice to function?? Thanks.

Any and all of the apps using SIP service will still work but your out of luck with any of the current 3rd party VoiP apps. I choose to make the move to Republic Wireless as I have been a user of Google voice services for the passed 2 years. If your willing to pay for your 3rd party VioP there are options none of which I would suggest other than SIP since most of them are pretty bad without great bandwidth.
