How did a family locator app make its way onto my Droid Turbo?

Droid turbo apps

I found Verizon family locator app on my phone while it was doing an update. I did not downlaod it. How could it have gotten on phone?

Welcome to Android Central! Wireless carriers and phone manufacturers may add or delete preinstalled bloatware when updating the system. This can be irritating either way--if they add an app, then it's probably an additional useless app that you didn't ask for. If they remove an app, it is sometimes an app that people rely on (for example, a note-taking app), and the abrupt removal of the app along with all of its data (without any real warning) has caused some teeth gnashing in the past.
