Is Android Pay stalking me?

Why is it showing up as consuming high battery in my LOCATION settings / gps?

My phone is warmer than it should be and draining faster.

Last time this happened, I ended up disabling Android Pay and things eventually settled down.

I am running the latest version of android pay that just recently came out.

As an experiment, I turned off location for a few hours. Android pay is not listed.

I just turned on location. It defaults to high accuracy mode. Within 30 seconds, Android pay shows up as HIGH BATTERY USE.

It's 11pm. I last made an NFC purchase 12 hours ago.

What's going on?

In hopes of achieving stability again, I just disabled android pay to see if my phone behaves better.

Thanks,
Mike

Yes, and thanks for the reply.

I've tried endless reboots, clearing android pay's app cache, all app caches, booting into recovery mode and clearing system cache.

Really, the only thing that helped (I think, and need to re-test/confirm) was disabling android pay. Since I just did it, I'll know in the morning.

When my phone is running well, overnight drain is 1%/hour . When it's not, it's much higher.

With Android Pay disabled, I just had another hot phone battery drain event.

Location was ON, so I enabled android pay and disabled location and will run like that for a few days to see how it goes.

I remain disturbed that Android Pay is sucking "HIGH Battery"/GPS.

Why? I don't have any loyalty cards,
