Android Auto - Honda Civic 2016: How can I get it working again?

AC Question

Android Auto - Honda Civic 2016

I have been using Android Auto in my Civic for Maps and Music for almost 2 months now. I noticed earlier this week my phone was connected to AA App and everything was working fine for a while and suddenly I don't see anything on the display but whereas I can see the car's home screen like phone , settings, etc. But when I select AA app on car, the screen is blank.
I tried disconnecting and re-connecting the same issue happens over and over.

Please suggest further steps of troubleshooting.

Re: Android Auto - Honda Civic 2016

Been having the same issues for weeks, not even factory resets help with this... I have tried everything and nothing is a long term solution, it will eventually come back.

The ways I've found bring it back are clearing data cache for Android auto, carmode, Google play, phone and map apps. After some time the screen will go blank, if you have music playing it will continue but you cannot control (skip) it anymore.

I'm using an S6 and this is with my 2016 Golf.

Someone on these forums suggested opening the Android auto app before plugging into USB... So I'm testing this out to see if it avoids the problem going further.

I have the problem . Android Auto used to work flawlessly. Suddenly one day, I was no longer see the Android Auto on the Infotainment screen if my Honda Car. I have tried many suggestions like enable MTP mode in the Developer Options, switching good quality USB cables....... I had also factory reset my phone but it was still no luck.

Until a day, I found an option in Settings labelled "Smartphone". I chose it and then I saw Android Auto. Then I found a list of all my cellphones previously connected with the Android Auto. I found some of my phones are Disable and some Enable. The one I was looking for solution to reactivate Android Auto was Disabled.
WaLa. Once I Enabled my target phone and my beloved Android Auto was BACK.
Hope this help some resolve your headache.IMG_20180130_215424.jpgIMG_20180130_215417.jpgIMG_20180130_215408.jpgIMG_20180130_215424.jpgIMG_20180130_215417.jpgIMG_20180130_215408.jpg
