According to Google, data connection (3G/4G/WiFi) is mandatory to use Voice Recognition feature in Android Auto. Every time I try to activate VR without data connection, it says: "There's no internet connection" or sometime it says "There's no internet connection but you can still make a call, play a track". Response from VR varies and there's no clear information to the user.
Can anyone share the experience you have had with voice recognition in Android Auto while driving in your car?
