Galaxy Note 3 Earphone error

[AC Question]

My Samsung Note 3 is showing the earphone icon at the top of the phone. It also shows recommended apps in the notification panel. As a result, I have no audio for a phone call unless I put it on speaker phone. I don't have any audio for videos in my gallery either. I DO NOT have earphones plugged in nor did I ever. I just tried plugging them in and then unplugging to see if that would work, it didn't. Help!

I would try powering the phone off and removing the sim for a few seconds.
