How to select dominant device for sync

[AC Question]

Hey all

So when syncing contacts between online gmail and my phone, how do I select which device is the primary device for purposes of the sync? I don't see an option to let me select this, so when I sync, sometimes it will overwrite the changes I've intentionally made on either the phone or online.

I am not sure you can set a primary like you said. I was under the impression that changes you make online (desktop) should change on the synced devices.
