GS3 KitKat Update

Hi Everyone, I recently cracked the screen on my Moto X pretty bad, so I resorted back to my S3 for the time being. I knew from doing some research that my US Cellular GS3 had recieved an update recently, so Ive been trying to obtain it by going into About Phone under settings and checking for it. Here's where the problem occurs.... When it says "checking for software updates," it never ends. That same phrase stays there, and never changes to tell me if it finds an update, or not. This is irritating because I know my SCH-R530U GS3 is due for an update that occurred in May (The KitKat update.) Can someone help me figure out why it doesn't tell me if there is one or isn't one? Or tell me why the screen never changes? My Wi-Fi is connected to my home Wi-Fi, great signal and all. I am currently on 4.1.2 JB and my device is not rooted

You could try using Kies to update the device. Otherwise, you might have to flash it using a PC program called Odin.
