S3 picture text says "download expired"

My S3 randomly stops downloading picture texts. It shows that someone sent a picture but when I click it it says "download failed" How do I fix this?

Does it happen on both WiFi and mobile networks? If it's just one, try the other.
If the message is too old, it will have expired. That may be the issue.

It does it whether Im on wifi or not....

Sometimes that happens when the phone transitions between WiFi and cellular and viceversa.

On that message there should be a sign in a circle, press it and it'll ask you if you want to try again.
