nexus 5 brightness not working after dropped in water

i dropped nexus 5 in pond, several drops of water in phone after removing back and i placed in rice for 36 hours. it seems to be working except the brightness is very low and won't increase in settings with brightness indicator. do you have any ideas to help

You should keep a phone in rice or silica packets for about 5 days or a week to actually have a chance.
36 hours isn't enough time at all.
Place it back in rice for a few days.
Hopefully it'll work.
