Wrong IMEI unlocked AT&T Samsung Note2

I have an unlocked AT&T note2 (firmware i317UCALJ2) with IMEI on the phone different from the one registered on the back.Got some assurance from Samsung that IMEI on the back panel is genuine and clean. I heard from a lot of forums that sometimes flashing a device might corrupt an IMEI( "null", all '0's etc.) but IMEI on my phone(*#06#) is like "35700.." . Not sure if this still indicates a corrupt IMEI but please suggest any possible ways of syncing my phone IMEI. I'm a novice in rooting so kindly make sure to be as detailed and informative as possible
