How long should the new Android Kit Kat updat take? s5

[AC Question]

I have an s5. The screen says "No command" and #manual mode#, same screen for 3 hrs. The previous screen asked to either reboot the phone, install update, and a couple other options I don't remember. I selected update, using the volume and power button. After I made the selection, the screen has not changed. Thanks!

So far as I recall, 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 took about 20min apiece to get into my unlocked Nexus 5. These were OTA updates.
