Welcome to the forums. Is there an option in the camera for default storage?

Gallery doesn't have a storage location of its own. When the phone starts (or restarts), Media Scanner builds a database of all the media files on the phone, internal and external. Gallery uses that database to find pictures to display.

As Golfdriver said, the camera has to put the pictures on the SD card if you want then there, or you can make a DCIM folder on the card, make a Camera folder inside that and manually move the pictures from the /DCIM/Camera folder in internal storage to the one on the SD card. (Copy first - then if the copy didn't fail, delete. Move does the same thing, but if the copy fails, it still deletes in some cases, meaning that you lost the picture.)

You can use an app like MyFiles, ES File Explorer or Total Commander (or any other file manager).
