Why didn't NFC work with my S4 and my friend's S5?

NFC didn't work with my S4 and my friend's S5

My friend recently got the S5 and I've had the S4 so we decided to try the NFC but it just wouldn't work....

We both had it turned on but the menu or whatever is supposed to pop up to transfer pictures, didn't work... What could be the problem? It worked before for her and another friend who has the S4.

The N in NFC stands for Near, and it means VERY near. It's not electromagnetic like Bluetooth, it's electric, like a spark.

Also, the NFC antenna is in the battery, so if the battery isn't NGC-capable, it won't work. (The stock Samsung battery is.)

We literally had them touching like you're supposed to. Hmmm maybe... I do have a backup battery so it could have been to backup one and not the stock one... thanks
