First, I'd like to point out I'm not a clever guy.
So, I deleted some stuff that I'm not sure I should've deleted, and now my phone's acting up. I'm not really certain of what it was, and now my phone won't save photos and shuts down my browser when I try. My question to you is: If I update, will my phone resume working as it should? Or must I reset my phone to factory settings?

Hello. Welcome to Android Central!

This place is full of clever people.
Unfortunately I am filling in at the moment.

Maybe you didn't delete them. You can't uninstall most built in apps.
You can disable them, but you would need to know how.
Are you covering for an errant child?
Have a look in General - Applications Manager - scroll across to the right to the Disabled (or Turned Off) list. You can enable each one again in it's App Info screen.

There's probably another solution, but it's 5.30 am here. Any deleted / uninstalled apps from the Play Store shouldn't cause issues I think.
Did you have a different camera app from the phones stock camera app?
The browser I can't figure.
I will be asleep but let us know what device you are referring to.
