Why does My Galaxy S3 repeatedly connect/disconnect from my computer?

Hello All,

I seem to be having an issue connecting my phone to my computer. When i plug the phone into the computer, I have windows 7 by the way, it will make the ding that it has connected but then five seconds later it makes the disconnect sound. It will keep on dinging again and again until i unplug my phone from the computer. For the Galaxy S3 its model number is Sch-I535, I know the verizon one. For some information about the settings I have usb debugging enabled and I have "allow mock locations" enabled too. Also the phone is rooted. Any help would be appreciated and if you guys need more information just ask.

My samsung galaxy s3 does the same thing I have windows 8.1 and all I do is go to the files and the phone is still there and I can see all the files. Hope this helps.

I am sorry but not really. I cant even get to the files because of the connection dropping so frequently. The phone does charge though, if that helps, but file explorer will come up and then disappear almost immediately.
