Why has my Labs menu gone to ?

Labs menu on browser has gone missing

I've been using my HTC One (M7?) for 18 months now, and I had the Labs menu option under settings in the browser, meaning I could (and did) turn on the quick controls. For some reason, the quick controls have now disappeared, and I no longer have the Labs menu in my browser. This happened about 2 days ago. Any known reason for this?

HTC Sense version 6.0
Software number 6.12.161.9
HTC SDK API level 6.25
Kernel version 3.4.10-g40b189c

Welcome to Android Central! Which browser, the stock one or Chrome? Any recent system updates?

The default browser, yes. I suffered a problem 2 weeks ago where the phone functionality stop working. I performed a factory reset at the time. I think it was working after the reset.
