Why won't my HTC One X connect to home wifi?

HTC One X won't connect to home WiFi

Hello there, I recently got an used* One X (from a family member). For whatever the reason, I simply can't connect to my home WiFi, which also used to be possible with the same phone (which had a factory reset in-between). It's either out of range (note that other networks are in range), even when my phone's literally on top of it, or for some reason it insists the password is wrong.
Should this also help, other devices can connect to the network, but sometimes have a sort of "fake", I guess, authentication error, which quickly disappears. My computer has other problems but it has lots of problems and this is an Android forum, so yeah.

Welcome to Android Central! You probably need to focus on the router. Try rebooting it, or logging into its settings via your computer browser and playing around with some of the security settings.
