How can I increase the volume on my Samsung Galaxy GT i9105 SII Plus when I am on a call?

How can we increase the volume when on a call. We have set the phone to the maximum volume. On speakerphone we can hardly hear anything. We have discovered the icon to increase the volume once on a call, but we still need the phone to be louder.

Welcome to Android Central! So the volume doesn't get very high either on the earpiece nor the speakerphone? When on a regular call, you may have to take the phone away from your ear before adjusting the volume upwards--does that help?

That phone is pretty old. Is this a new problem on a phone you've had for a while, or is this phone new to you?
