Why won' t the sim card in my S4 fit in my S5?

sim card in my s4 wont fit in my s5

I thought the sim cards were the same. My son dropped his phone and the screen is black. Wanted to swap the sim card but doesnt fit. Any suggestions

Hello. I am going to presume here that the Samsung S4 took a standard sim card. The S5 and most new models take a micro sim card. Some take a smaller nano sim.

No problem then. Ideally you should get it replaced by a store or your carrier. It will take 5 minutes in a store, and about 30 minutes for the network / carrier to activate the card on the system.
It's free of course. They will post it to you also.

You can get an independent store to cut the standard sim for you, or the carrier store may try that, but it will be a little thicker and so difficult to remove later, say if you drop it in water.
