How can I change my my encryption to swipe/pattern/PIN instead of a Password?

Hi, I encrypted my Samsung Galaxy Exhibit phone and now all the screen lock option are grayed out only Password is enabled. I want to enable swipe/pin/pattern options back again but without loosing data and also I don't want to do factory reset. Please help.....

Welcome to Android Central! Only PIN and password are possible after you encrypt your phone (unless you have a Nexus 6 or Nexus 9). See the help page: https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/2844831?hl=en.

Encryption is irreversible, so in order to get those other options back, you would have to factory reset and not encrypt the phone.

Hello.....

I have a agalaxy s5 and if I encrypt I must use a password or fingerprint the PIN option is greyed out..... how can I use PIN???? my LG G4 works with pin+encryption... annoying samsung.
