Why Galaxy note 2 screen want rotate?

My Galaxy Note 2 screen will note rotate. I tried taking the battery and waiting a minute that didn't work. The rotate screen button is selected in the drop down menu and a went to setting and selected it there. Still not working. I also tried powering phone off, holding power button- home button- power up button updated the cache. that didn't work. Is there anything else that i can do to resolve this problem?

Try tapping it firmly a few times....but certainly not hard enough to do damage. Slap it smartly into the palm of your hand perhaps.
