What is LifetimeData app?

A

AC Question

Good day, I recently purchased a Nexus 6, and there is an app with the name 'LifetimeData' listed when I view all apps. It is not an app I installed, and might be necessary for the phone to function. It is 44.00KB in size.

Is this app native to Android Lollipop 5? It has full phone permissions, so I am just concerned. My provider is ATT if this information is useful.

When I view app info, I can only force it to stop. There is no uninstall function.

Thanks,
Eric

I have the same problem. I have the fairly new Motorola x4 Android phone. When I access all apps I finally found this app and clicked force stop. The disable button is grayed out and there is nowhere that you can uninstall/remove it. It just pops up out of nowhere and when it does it just shows a page listing news interest and other things people might be interested in. My carrier is Cricket. I noticed it after my latest update. So I don't believe it is germaine to any one carrier or any one phone. I believe it might be connected to Android updates.
Anyone have any ideas how to get rid of this app? It is driving me nuttie!
