Is there an app that will let me choose to send an SMS or MMS at the time of sending?

I'm looking for a text messaging app that will allow me to choose the type of message (sms or mms) I'm sending when addressed to multiple contacts. Ideally I'd like one that separates incoming group messages into different conversation threads based on the group members.

Welcome to Android Central! I believe that with a conventional SMS app, group texts have to be sent as MMS.

The choice of breaking a long message (not sending it as an MMS) or sending long messages as MMS is a setting, it's not something you can choose for each message (unless you want to go into the app's settings each time you send a message).
