Why can't I hear any phone calls unless I put it on speaker?

I really didn't care about this but recently it has been bugging me, whenever I want to talk to someone I won't be able to hear anything unless I put it on speaker and its annoying because no one wants to hear a persons conversation. Does anyone know how to fix it?This is for the LG Optimus l90

Welcome to Android Central! Can you hear the caller using wired or Bluetooth headphones as well? If so, then the phone's earpiece speaker is probably broken. You'd have to bring it to a repair shop if you want it fixed.
