Galaxy s3 Keyboard lights flickering??

Help! Last night out of nowhere, my s3 started acting up (I've had it for almost a year). Whenever I'm using my keyboard (such as texting or typing on Facebook), the backlight on the keyboard flickers on and off. It seems to be worse when my screen lighting is set to auto. It's just the part over the keyboard though - not the entire screen. The top part of the text will still be lit properly and not flickering. I do have a third party keyboard installed but I have for months without an issue. Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it? Thanks!
