Why won't my belkin keyboard compute certain letters onto my Galaxy Tab A?

This is the second time I have used by Samsung Galaxy Tab A, and my Belkin keyboard has stopped computing certain letters. symbols or numbers. For example it will not display the numbers (1, 8,9) or the letters (i,h,k,z,m) or keys (tab, capslock) or symbols !,*,(.
