I'm trying to manually backup private photos to PC. Otherwise, must I "unprivate" them to copy, then re-private them?

    Welcome to Android Central!

The photos are encrypted so you would need to un encrypt them before got can back then up.

Thanks for response. Ok, understood that it's encrypted, but where is it within the device storage. Is it in a hidden folder where I must use Developer's mode to access the actual, physical location of this encrypted private data/photo's area? What I'm asking is how to I manually access the private info?

(I did eventually simply removed the album from private, copied to PC, the made it private again. )

More than likely they are stored within a system folder where you would need root access to get to them. You would need to root the phone in order to get to them most likely.

Thanks ITGuy. Sounds right. Not ready to root N4 yet; will practice that on N3 first.

    Thanks to all who replied!
