S4 isn't turning on while its charging?

So my phone died, so i charged it. I decided to turn it on while it was still on the charger, at 6%, and it vibrated, showed the logo, and then vibrated again and showed the battery. I tried again 4 times and the same thing happened...whats going on

6% on the phone means that it's still ramping up, it's not charging. (The phone is measuring the voltage at the battery's terminals, not the state of charge - which can only be done at 100%. During ramp-up, the voltage will start going up, but very little of that is due to a charge in the battery. You probably had just about enough charge to shut the phone off before the battery died again.) Give it at least overnight to charge. And in the future, don't let it drop below 40% if you don't want to replace the battery often.
