Replacing front digitizer screen?

A

AC Question

When replacing the front screen, why is it neccessary to go in from the back?
Why cant you just remove front screen/s , undo tab and replace with new screen?

Send it out to be fixed if broken. If not, because the front screen only comes off by removing the back first. Just the way it is put together.

Another reason to send it out - if you don't heat the digitizer enough (and if it's spidered, that means each piece, since you do them one at a time), you'll tear the screen and have to replace the whole thing. If you overheat the digitizer, it damages the screen and you have to replace the whole thing. And the temperature difference isn't much. Most techs ruin about 5 or 6 screens before they get that "magic touch" that tells them when the glass is just hot enough to remove. (They work on dead phones with bad screens, of course.)
