I cant keep app on my homepage

I don't know what Im doing wrong. Im new to Gmail. Everytime I click on my chrome app and google "my virgin media" I drag down box on right and click on add to home screen. It does it and its there, but once ive been in it and come out, when I go back in it showing the google screen again. This happens with anything I add to home screen from google?

Open the app drawer and long press an App and move it to the home screen. It should stick there and not be erased. Also, check to make sure you didn't move the apps into folders.
