Linux tools to root LG G3 Lollipop?

I don't have Windows available, only Linux. Can I root my LG G3 Lollipop 5.0.1 Build LRX21Y, kernel 3.4.0-perf-g412210c using Linux? Installing Windows drivers, running Windows executables etc are NOT valid choices for me.

You should be able to. You can try to flash a custom recovery with ADB commands, reboot into recovery, and then flash the superuser .zip file. That should get you rooted.
