Why wont any of my downloaded documents open on my LGG3?

[AC Question]

I've had my LGG3 for about a year now, and if I am searching through things on google, it would act as if it was going to go to the link I clicked on, but then it would go back to the previous Google page and the word "Downloading..." would pop up on my screen. (It does NOT do this to every page, only certain ones). After it was done downloading, I would be able to click on the check mark in my notifications bar and it would open right up for me to read. But for the past month or so, when I go to open up the download to read it, it says "Cannot Open File". I have deleted files, rebooted my phone and everything else I could think of. Has this happened to anyone else? Or does anyone know why it randomly started after never having problems before? Or any solutions to the issue? Thank you in advance.
