Continuous App notifications popping up

[AC Question]

I repeatedly (every two seconds, not exaggerating) get a notification/error message from Google Play saying: "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped. Report/OK" The only options it gives me are to report it or click ok to simply acknowledge the notification. I have tried reporting it and nothing happened, and I have also tried turning off the Google Play app notifications, to no avail. This error message is extremely irritating. How do I fix the error or make the notifications stop?
