Get a location of a phone useing imei number

Yesterday my bf forgot his phone was on his car and drove off. He went right back to the scene and in minutes it was gone. Phone is disconected but if another person is useing it is there a way to track its location by imei number. We are a low income family and cant afford another phone. Any help would be great thanks!!

Try logging in to Android Device Manager with your Google account:

www.google.com/android/devicemanager

If it hasn't been reset you may be able to locate it IF location is turned on. You can also Lock it while leaving a message on the screen if someone found it and wants to return it, or erase/factory reset it to remove your data. You don't need Location to be turned on for these.

If the device is off, the Lock with message, or Erase command will work shortly after it's turned on.

You can report the loss to your carrier who will black list it if you don't think you'll get it back, or it's been factory reset.
