Is there a way to recover data from a dead Micro SD card?

This morning I woke up to my S5Active saying my SD card (64gig) had been unmounted. Tried taking it out and putting it back in; wasn't recognized. Tried putting in my old card: recognized and working. Took my 64 gig card to my PC and after searching for my adapter inserted it into the card reader; nothing, PC did not recognized anything. Put in my old card and it was recognized and I was able to explore it. Its been about a month since I backed up the card. Is there anyway to get the card working again or to get the pics/vids off of it?

Welcome to Android Central! Unfortunately, I don't think so. Programs like chkdsk require the computer to be able to see the card. There might be forensic data recovery services that you could try, but those probably cost a lot of money.
