    From what I have seen and read, looks like you can only download videos and apps to device memory and then have to transfer it to the SD card. Is this correct?

    So far that's what I have done. But I do have a video I want to move to private. My S5 then says it is transferring to private. Does that mean it's going back to device memory?

    I am calling the original 16 GB of memory in my Galaxy S5 device memory and the 32 GB microSD card I added as SD memory.

    Android treats SD cards as a second class citizen. Google's latest Nexus phones don't even have SD card slots. If you need to push a big file to the SD card, I recommend connecting your phone directly to your computer and uploading that way.
