My Galaxy Tab GT-N8000 won't update...how to get latest Android version?

I bought this Samsung 10.2" tablet new in 2012 but it never seems to show any Samsung software updates when checking. It is still on 4.0.4

I have used a new Samsung tablet & that is on 4.2.2. It is better user interface than 4.0.4, but I've read about kitkat & jellybean 5.0.

How/where to do this latest Android version for my tablet?

Depending on the region that the device was made for, that might be the last update it saw. You can check your region code on the box that it came in. On the serial number, it should be the last 3 characters.

Once you know that, you can check what your latest OS is. Samsung updates or Sammobile have some pretty good libraries of files, but when I checked, KK is the furthest it goes.
