LG Tone + HBS-730 beeping problem

[AC Question]

I've been using the Tone+ for quite a while, probably close to a year. Over the last week, it has decided to start giving me a double beep every time that I touch a button on my phone. I'm confident that it's associated with the headset, as it gives the same double beep when it turns on and before it pairs with the phone. After it pairs, it promptly gives me the same double beep, just to see how annoying it can be. I just bought an HBS-750, and it doesn't exhibit the same signalling, so I'm sure it's the headset. Any ideas how I can make it stop?

OK, well there is one temporary solution. Hold down the phone button while flipping the power button and ensure it turns on and goes to pairing mode. Then manually connect from your phone. It's not ideal, but at least it works.
