my Samsung galaxy s6 screen went out

My screen was a cracked a little bit on my galaxy s6 and still was working fine I was texting, on apps, calling people, etc. I had put my down for ten minutes and next time my son said half of my screen had went had lines and a white area and it was cracked. I cannot afford another phone. What can I do?? I still get alerts and text messages. Is there a cheap way I can fix my phone without paying out of pocket for repairs or a new phone?? Help me!!!!

Welcome to Android Central! If you don't have experience with replacing a phone's screen yourself, I would strongly recommend taking it to a qualified repair shop. It's much better to spend $100-200 on a good screen repair than risk completely rendering the phone useless by trying and failing to do a repair yourself.
