Can I use both the soft keyboard and a bluetooth barscanner as input device at the same time?

On a Samsung tab active (SM T360) i need to be able to scan a barcode with a bluetooth device (Symbol CS3070) as input device and immdiately after this to use the build in soft keyboard to key in a number.
When I connect the bluetooth i need to tick it of as "input device" in order to receive the input, but this seems to disable the standard pop up keyboard.
Is there a setting for keeping the pop up keyboard enabled as input?
