Curious question...

A

AC Question

Getting a nexus 5x soon, not like ill do it but just for curiosity. I might put a pin lock, and on the lock screen if i enter it wrong too many times will i get locked out? Also if I turn on the secure start, on the start android enter pin screen if i enter the pin too many times will i get locked out?

Also, if I face trouble with entering the pin and with secure start enabled, can I reset it using recovery mode without any issue?

If, for some reason, a wrong PIN is repeatedly entered, you will be prompted to enter your Google account details.
Security details cannot be reset in Recovery.

So just to clarify, doing WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET in recovery won't reset the lock? Are you sure?

Also, the google account thing, does the same thing apply on the secure start up screen? If not, what happens if you enter pin too many times incorrectly on the "To start Android, enter your PIN"?

Welcome as a new member. :)

Factory Resetting will not reset the security settings, it will simply obliterate them.

For the latter, I'll pass you on to a 5x owner if I can find one.
