why does my the phone on bluetooth not ring when receiving a call.

Bluetooth has been activated and paired to my car. I can see when the phone call comes in on my radio. The radio goes off, the name and phone number of the person appears on the screen and I can talk and hear what the person calling is saying, However, there is no ring when the call comes in.
Any advice would be appreciated.
