AC Question

Okay, I bought a phone from someone and they obviously ripped me off. It was working great for a day and then all of a sudden it had a black screen but the buttons would light up when I touched them. After research, I got to checking to see if the phone had water damage and it did. I took the phone apart, cleaned it well after watching a youtube tutorial. The phone was working great for about an hour then all of a sudden it went back to the black screen again. I took the phone apart again but now I seemed to have misplaced the heating shields that were on the back of the motherboard and I can't seem to find them anywhere. I have two questions. First one is, do you think the phone is still repairable or LCD needing to be replaced? Also, where would I be able to find those heating shields that belong on the back of the mother board?

Welcome to Android Central! The problem with water damage is that it can be unpredictable and widespread. So if you replaced the screen, it's no guarantee that the problem is completely fixed, since there could also be some corrosion on the motherboard or connectors.

Easiest way to determine if it is repairable is to plug in a new lcd. You could order one, or just take it to a shop. Most reputable ones will not charge you to diagnose the screen. The shields are unrelated to the issue and you should be able to run without them just fine.
