My android device (Samsung Galaxy S3) was esrased

[AC Question]

Received email from Android Device Manager that a "remote erase requested". I shut down my device prior to receiving the email and when I restarted my device it was erased. Is there any way to retrieve my info through Android?
I never heard of this and did not know what had happened until I signed in to my gmail account. Thanks for any assistance.

I could be wrong, but unless you backed up your device, using either Kies or Smart Switch, there is no way to recover your information, as this is why the wipe occurs. Now why it occurred to your device is indeed, a mystery....especially if you did not generate the action!
